Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
