Per recent claims from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, declared in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for clemency.

Specific details of the clemency request are unclear, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for Maxwell and her guests.

The visits reportedly involve a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and potential for unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, she was provided directions about instructing her contacts to call and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Reported

Further perks allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

This past summer, Maxwell was moved from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most inmates are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as the President's private attorney.

This questioning came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

Through the statement, the congressman also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether he had discussed a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any commitments to the President or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the questions by 24 November.

In October, the nation's highest court rejected an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
